For accounting firm partners

Helping your clients achieve the growth they planned for.

You are often the first person a client calls when growth stalls. You see the numbers. I help surface what sits behind them, while the client relationship stays yours.

The situation

You can see when the story in the numbers is incomplete.

A client’s revenue has levelled off, or slipped for a few quarters in a row. Costs have been trimmed. A new market has been tried. When they ask what to do next, the honest answer often sits outside the accounts: in the leadership team, the sales conversations, or the way the business makes decisions.

Growth conversations often need a different kind of expertise alongside the financial picture: someone who has spent a career inside sales teams and leadership teams.

Why now

Year-end is when clients ask what comes next.

Planning conversations for 2027 are happening now. Clients want advice on growth as well as a clean set of accounts, and a firm that can offer both becomes harder to leave.

Bringing in a growth expert at this moment adds depth to your advisory work without asking you to step outside your own expertise.

How it works for you

Three stages. You can stop at any of them.

01

Growth Assessment

Your client answers ten questions in about five minutes. You can answer them yourself about a client, too.

02

Growth Insight

I work with your client's leadership team and their own data to find what is really helping and holding back growth.

03

Growth Pathway

A clear action plan and roadmap for your client, presented to their leadership team, with you in the room if you wish.

What you leave with

A clear route forward, agreed by the people who will act on it.

  • A growth conversation you can offer every client, alongside the numbers
  • A clear action plan your client owns and can act on
  • Your client relationship stays yours throughout
  • A trusted specialist to call on, without building the capability in-house
Two ways to work together
  • Under your name. I work as part of your advisory team. I invoice the firm and you invoice your client.
  • By introduction. You introduce me and I work with your client directly, keeping you informed.
What the introduction can sound like

A simple way to raise it with a client.

“We’ve talked about this before. You’ve cut some costs and looked at new markets, and it hasn’t moved things as much as you hoped. I work with a growth expert, Stephen Newman. He has a short assessment that looks at what’s really holding growth back, and the first conversation is without obligation. If it’s worth going deeper, he’ll put together a clear action plan for what to try next.”

Happy to talk through how this could work for your firm and your clients.
